Mistal introduces the latest creation from Greubel Forsey - the GMT Sport
Mistal introduces the latest creation from Greubel Forsey - the GMT Sport

MUSCAT, December 2019: Mistal, the luxury watch and jewelry boutique by Ajit Khimji Group, proudly announces the launch of, the first official sports watch from Greubel Forsey -the GMT Sport.

With the latest release, Greubel Forsey showcases a new face, the GMT Sport – the most sport-oriented timepiece to date of the haute horlogerie brand. In 2015, the GMT Black paved the way for the GMT Sport. Building on this foundation, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey have invented and now present the result, a lightweight and ultra-strong, profiled titanium case with ovoid bezel and integrated lugs to showcase the new movement. With the completely new and original titanium case and water-resistance to 100 meters, the new watch firmly positions itself in a “sports” league of its own.

Greubel Forsey has always had a special talent for expressing the beauty of asymmetry. In their latest creation, the movement was constructed from scratch – from the suspended arched bridge for the hours and minutes display, to the unique showcase of the Tourbillon 24 Seconds and the universal time display with three dimensional globe. Another truly assertive Greubel Forsey – and a revolution: the successful alliance between ergonomics, technicity and architecture.

The display side of the GMT Sport presents classic Greubel Forsey architecture, an open, orchestrated theatre between suspended bridges, semi-apparent wheels and floating dials in three dimensions. In keeping with the sporting vocation of this timepiece, the focus is on legibility and efficiency. The hours and minutes are displayed by concentric open worked hands whose curved profile follows the curvature of the case and movement. Mounted on the suspended arch centre bridge with black treated openings, the gear train literally follows the curve of the bridge, overlooking the globe to drive the hour and minute hands. Ensuring excellent visibility in the dark, the triangular tips of the arrow-shaped hands and the markers on the minute-hour-ring are enhanced with luminescent coating. An auxiliary dial between 10 and 11 o’clock combines the small seconds on a large rotating disc, and the second time zone display with a hand. These two coaxial displays with red triangular indexes underline this timepiece’s technicity.

The 72-hour chronometric power reserve (ensured by two coaxial barrels in series) is indicated on a sector at 3 o’clock with its openworked hand and highlighted red triangle. Housed underneath the arched bridge, the power reserve differential is subtly engraved with Greubel Forsey’s values. Whether they are visible on the dial side or concealed in the caseback side, each of the 435 components of this hand-wound movement, including titanium plates and bridges, respect the most demanding criteria of the Greubel Forsey Atelier and the teams utmost concern for the finest workmanship.

“At Mistal, we are proud to be part of Greubel Forsey’s pioneering foray into sport watch territory. The GMT Sport flaunts the magnificence that is Greubel Forsey and is for those who want to wear one of the most finely finished timepieces in a more casual setting,” commented Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director, Mistal.

With its unique blend of sophisticated luxury and intimate service, Mistal is the sole representatives of Greubel Forsey in Oman.

Mistal Celebrates the Launch of Greubel Forsey’s Quantième Perpétuel À Équation
Mistal Celebrates the Launch of Greubel Forsey’s Quantième Perpétuel À Équation

Horologists and scientists have been working on the problem of a perpetual calendar since 87 BC. But despite all the work, perpetual calendar watches still require additional pushers on the side to adjust the date functions every now and then. The problems that have been inherent in the mechanism from the beginning still persisted, until now.

With their Quantième Perpétuel À Équation (or QP for short), Greubel Forsey present the only global solution to the three problems that are generally found in perpetual calendar watches – the first being the idiosyncratic nature of the Gregorian calendar, the second being the gear arrangement for a perpetual calendar that always assumes that time moves forward, and the third being that perpetual calendars cannot stop for any amount of time without adjustment back to the correct time and date being cumbersome and laborious.

At the heart of the QP à Équation lies Greubel Forsey’s seventh invention, the Mechanical Computer, an entirely integrated 25-part component that brings a totally new interpretation to some of the calendar functions incorporated in age-old astronomical clocks. It is composed of a set of coding wheels superimposed in a coaxial manner, along with removable fingers programmed by this ingenious system.

The dial of the QP à Équation indicates leap years, the 24 hours of the day and night, the day of the week, the large date, the month, the hours, the minutes and the seconds, as well as the chronometric 72-hour power reserve. On the movement side, this timepiece displays the equation of time with the months, seasons, solstices and equinoxes, as well as the calendar year.

Mistal Celebrates the Launch of Greubel Forsey’s Quantième Perpétuel À Équation

The QP à Équation provides a simplified linear display. Herein lies the happy paradox of this piece: it is an ultra-complicated timepiece with its tourbillon and its complete equation of time perpetual calendar function, but it is as easy to use and adjust as a watch with three hands. This system is extremely easy to adjust in both directions without damaging the mechanism.

“Greubel Forsey has been revered as one of the finest watchmakers in the industry, and the Quantième Perpétuel À Équation is an exemplary example of their creativity and inventiveness,” said Mr. Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director of Mistal. “We are delighted with the launch of this new timepiece and are certain it will invoke the interest of every luxury watch enthusiast in the country.”

Apart from showcasing magnificent timepieces from Greubel Forsey, Mistal is also home to some of the most exclusive and cherished brands. The luxury showroom holds an exquisite collection of watches and jewelry the world has known. The refined taste is showcased even through the tastefully decorated interiors of the showroom, radiating an aura of aristocracy with its distinct and elite style.

Mistal Celebrates IWC Schaffhausen’s Partnership with Tom Brady
Mistal Celebrates IWC Schaffhausen’s Partnership with Tom Brady

IWC Schaffhausen recently announced its partnership with iconic athlete Tom Brady. With six Super Bowl titles, four Super Bowl MVP Awards, three League MVP Awards, and 16 Division titles – Tom Brady embodies greatness. IWC and Brady are both best in class and their shared principles of excellence and timeless style make their partnership a seamless fit.

Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, said, “Tom Brady is arguably the best quarterback of all time, but also an admired role model. On the field, his focus is on performance and precision; off the field, he is a true gentleman, incredible father and husband while also embodying elegance and style.”

Tom Brady is a world-class athlete, modern day icon and a connoisseur of haute horlogerie. His collection includes several IWC watches, among them a Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Miramar and the iconic Portugieser Perpetual Calendar.

“I am honored to be partnering with IWC Schaffhausen, a brand I’ve long admired, not only for their timeless design but their precise engineering and attention to detail,” said Brady. “I am excited to be part of the IWC family and look forward to collaborating with their talented team to share the brand’s unique heritage globally.”

Brady is a champion who always strives for excellence. After being drafted by the New England Patriots as the 199th pick of the 2000 NFL draft, he has won six Super Bowl championships with the team, more than any other quarterback in NFL history.

Brady’s unprecedented football career includes a multitude of NFL records. He is the first player in NFL history to accumulate 80,000 total yards. Brady also holds the most game wins of any quarterback, is the all time leader in passing yards and has the most career touchdown passes of any player in history.

Throughout his career, Brady has integrated a holistic approach to health and wellness through preparation, performance and recovery. In 2014, Brady co-founded TB12, a performance lifestyle brand, to share his approach and wellness movement with a global audience. Brady’s TB12 brand integrates revolutionary concepts in deep-force muscle pliability work, hydration, nutrition, functional strength & conditioning, and cognitive health.

More than 150 years ago, F.A. Jones also worked hard to share his visionary ideas and achieve his dreams. The American watchmaker and engineer traveled to Switzerland in 1868 with an ambitious entrepreneurial project. He wanted to combine the artisan skills of

Swiss watchmakers with the modern manufacturing methods he had experienced during his time at the E. Howard Watch & Clock Company in Boston. He turned to Schaffhausen, a town in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, where he founded the International Watch Company. Using hydropower from the nearby river Rhine, he created an infrastructure that could produce several thousand pocket watch movements per year. Nowadays, IWC still emphasizes the values that were part of his vision from the outset: making elegant and highly precise watches that have both the dignity of well-made and functionally irreproachable machines, as well as being shaped by the irreplaceable work of skilled craftspeople.

IWC Schaffhausen and Tom Brady look forward to bringing their partnership to life with many exciting new projects planned. Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, concludes: “Tom Brady is a world-class athlete with a sense of style and an appreciation for fine watchmaking. Working with him will enable us to tell the IWC story to a growing audience, especially in the United States.”

IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN With a clear focus on technology and development, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has been producing timepieces of lasting value since 1868. The company has gained an international reputation based on a passion for innovative solutions and technical ingenuity. One of the world’s leading brands in the luxury watch segment, IWC crafts masterpieces of Haute Horlogerie at their finest, combining supreme precision with exclusive design. As an ecologically and socially responsible company, IWC is committed to sustainable production, supports institutions around the globe in their work with children and young people, and maintains partnerships with organizations dedicated to environmental protection.

“IWC has been known to embody elegance, class and the highest degree of sophistication in all their creations. When it comes to their partnerships, it’s nothing different,” said Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director of Mistal. “We are indeed thrilled with IWC new association with an icon like Tom Brady.”

Apart from showcasing magnificent timepieces from IWC, Mistal is also home to some of the most exclusive and cherished brands. The luxury showroom holds an exquisite collection of watches and jewelry the world has known. The refined taste is showcased even through the tastefully decorated interiors of the showroom, radiating an aura of aristocracy with its distinct and elite style.

Mistal Announces a New Addition to RJ’s Exclusive Collection: The Two-Face
Mistal Announces a New Addition to RJ’s Exclusive Collection: The Two-Face

Muscat:Bringing to Oman the finest brands from across the world, Mistal, the luxury watches and jewelry boutique by Ajit Khimji Group is delighted with the addition of a new timepiece to RJ’s exclusive collection – the Two-Face. The new Two face collection is available at Mistal Showroom.

RJ Watches has underlined its status as the pre-eminent creator of unique watch collaborations by joining forces once more with one of the world’s biggest entertainment companies, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment. The new collaboration builds on the global success of recent RJ creations like the Skylab Batman watch to deliver new watches that are based upon further iconic characters from the world of DC Entertainment.

Each watch will be produced in a limited edition of only 100 pieces and will mark the first collaboration to be presented in RJ’s all-new ARRAW watch case, the base for its signature collection.

The new RJ Two-Face watch is a remarkable interpretation of the complex and conflicted villain. Using watchmaking techniques that are exclusive to RJ, the Two-Face watch uses a skeleton movement and distressed design cues to evoke the twisted physical and mental state of the crazed criminal. The left-hand side of the watch is intentionally clean and structured, while on the right side, the three-layer skeleton movement is exposed to show the inner workings of the watch, as if acid itself had burnt away the outer casing and dial.

The Two-Face watch uses a half-exposed manual skeleton movement with 48-hour reserve. Designed by RJ, the movement features chamfered edges and straight angles and sits within a circular satin-brushed 45mm titanium ARRAW case. By using an ARRAW case, the Two-Face watch sports the four iconic rubber bumpers, beautiful lugs and arrow-shaped hands that are core to all ARRAW-based watches.

The Two-Face watch is immediately distinguishable, however, thanks to its distressed outer bezel, in which the laser-engraved titanium bezel and calf leather strap have been intentionally structured along the right-hand side to echo the symmetrical disfiguring of Two-Face himself.

The dial itself, which sits beneath anti-reflective sapphire glass, reflects Two-Face’s personalities. The clean, structured left side carries a laser-engraved coin, which Two-Face famously spins to make life and death decisions and which, on the watch, serves as a turning second hand.

Like the watch itself, the calf leather strap is designed to have a clean and distressed side. Using a process unique to RJ, the right edge of the strap is given both a visual and tactile nature. The strap can be changed by pushing the release buttons in the form of original Batman logos on the case lugs.

The reverse of the titanium case features further laser-engraved distressing and each watch in the edition is individually numbered as a ‘One of 100 Limited Edition’.

As part of the collectors’ edition, each watch will be presented with an exclusive Two-Face coin, specially struck to commemorate the creation of the watch.

“The new RJ Two-Face is a typical example of haute horlogerie at its finest. After the success of RJ’s collaboration with Batman, we are certain that this exclusive timepiece will stir the interest of every true watch enthusiast in the country,” said Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director of Mistal.

Mistal Unveils Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor The ultimate challenge to gravity
Vacheron ConstantinThe first Roger Dubuis watch with four sprung balances, is an exceptional achievement in the history of Fine Watchmaking. This piece, played simultaneously by four virtuosi and accompanied by five differentials, is the ultimate challenge to gravity. The Excalibur Quatuor symbolises the mechanical magic of one of the most innovative Manufactures of the 21st century. It pushes the limits in terms of precision and marks one of the major advances in contemporary watchmaking.

The CEO of Roger Dubuis watches, Mr. Jean- Marc Pontroue and Dharmesh A Khimji, the Managing Director of Mistal introduced the watch to Oman media recently with an exclusive preview to the watch which is internationally priced at USD 1 Million Dollar.

The sprung balance: the soul of a mechanical watch
The regulating organ is the pulse of a mechanical watch, the critical component that has always attracted most attention. It is the element that actually counts the passing time and therefore determines the watch’s precision. Today, when only a handful of companies are able to manufacture the other components of a movement «in-house», producing a sprung balance internally is an exceptional achievement in Fine Watchmaking. Roger Dubuis is able to do this because it is one of the very few Manufactures with totally integrated production. Its invaluable expertise enables it to incorporate no fewer than four sprung balances in the same movement, the RD101, a feat that was considered impossible until now.

Two major innovations to improve precision.
The Excalibur Quatuor watch, one of the highlights of SIHH 2013, is produced in a limited series of 88 pieces. It captures the bravura and creativity of Roger Dubuis better than any other model. It represents innovation that respects the great traditions of watchmaking. Not only content which incorporates four sprung balances, it also features a completely original power-reserve indicator. These two technical feats (patents applied for both) have not been developed simply for their own sake but as part of watchmaking’s permanent pursuit of precision.

The precision of a movement is affected by the gravity of the Earth as the watch constantly changes position with the motion of the wrist. The tourbillon has provided a partial answer to this problem but the Excalibur Quatuor offers a new solution. The four carefully positioned sprung balances work in pairs to compensate immediately for the rate variations caused by the changes in position. What the tourbillon achieves over the course of a minute, the Excalibur Quatuor achieves instantly.

Even the power reserve is original
Defying the laws of gravity and high frequency is not enough for the Excalibur Quatuor. It also offers a completely new way of indicating the power reserve. While a double display showing the crescent of the moon turns at the same speed as the barrels - 4.25 revolutions per day - the needle also turns, but more slowly. As the power reserve reduces, the hand follows the barrels’ rate of discharge, positioning itself precisely on the two moon crescents to indicate the power still in reserve. A patent has been filed for this inventive, precise, intuitive and innovative mechanism that perfectly represents the values of Roger Dubuis.

Exceptional mechanics expressed in a powerful design
More than any other watch, the Excalibur Quatuor symbolises the immense creativity of Roger Dubuis, going beyond the identity codes that have made the brand famous. In progressing from the first sketch to its presentation at SIHH 2013, it will have drawn on all the expertise in the Manufacture. Master watchmakers, engineers and designers have worked hand-in-hand at each stage of development to achieve a perfect fusion of technique and design. Maintaining this balance has affected even the smallest step forward. It has influenced the concept, fabrication, adjustment and the decoration by hand of all the 590 components of the calibre RD101.

Its flamboyant dial, displaying all four sprung balances, is a spectacular invitation to discover the peak of watchmaking technology. Its bridges and plates have been refined to the absolute limit in a contemporary version of the traditional art of skeletonising. The exquisite finishing of the Excalibur Quatuor watch makes it uniquely beautiful and endlessly fascinating.

Reflecting the brand’s constant pursuit of supreme quality, the Excalibur Quatuor watch and its movement are both stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva, as is every piece that Roger Dubuis produces – a unique achievement in the world of Fine Watchmaking.

Mistal unveils the latest Master class from Swiss watchmaker URWERK
URWERKMistal Boutique, Oman’s newest luxury and lifestyle destination recently launched the brand new watches from Swiss watchmaker URWERK, the UR-105M "Iron Knight" and "Dark Knight" pieces.

The design inspiration behind the UR-105M series was 'Armor'. Inspired by the Middle Ages, an era of lances, legends, chivalrous conduct and noble deeds. An era when knights in shining armor would risk their lives for honor and glory, with only their faith and shield for protection. The UR-105M embodies their gallant valor in a titanium and steel arena, the satellite hours conquering time in an eternal jousting tournament.

The UR-105M features an impressive titanium body reinforced by steel armor. At the heart of its time display, four satellites slowly orbit. Each of these satellites is visible during their 60-minute journey along the minute scale. A circular PEEK (Poly Ether Ethercetone) canopy with openings enhances the current hour. Once the hour has elapsed, the satellite – guided by a Geneva cross – rotates and continues around its orbit for another three hours before returning to the center stage. Completing the indications, running seconds and power reserve are displayed laterally on the case band.

At the back of the UR-105M, URWERK's signature 'Control Board' houses additional displays and functions: an 'Oil Change' indicator alerting when it is time for a service; 42-hour power reserve indicator; plus the fine-tuning screw allowing adjustment of the rate. From a materials standpoint there are two versions, but each relies on case parts made from both titanium and steel. The bezel (front part) of the watch case is finely brushed steel for the Iron Knight, and the Dark Knight version has AlTin-treated back-colored steel. The caseback of the UR-105M is in black-colored titanium.

While the steel model has a characteristic bold appearance, the all-black model is equally interesting giving the buyers the option of diverse fashion statement.

“The UR-105M is one of the brand’s quintessential watches which will be in demand, and we believe offering this type of timepiece is a great way to highlight the value of owning a true URWERK masterpiece. These watches are for people with strong personalities, those who have a strong sense of design and ingenuity while enjoying the master class which Swiss watches are known for” said Dharmesh A Khimji, the Managing Director of Mistal.

Mistal chosen by Vacheron Constantin as their exclusive distributor in Oman
Vacheron ConstantinMistal Boutique, often referred to as luxury’s new name in Oman has been chosen by Vacheron Constantin as their exclusive distributor in the country. Vacheron Constantin is the world’s oldest watch manufacturer in constant activity since its founding in 1755. For almost 260 years, the Maison specialising in Haute Horlogerie has perpetuated its venerable tradition of exclusivity by maintaining a range of refined products and stressing such values as quality, continuity and tradition. The iconic Manufacturer boasts of a clientele that includes legendary figures like Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Pius XI, the Duke of Windsor and Harry Truman.

Vacheron ConstantinThe company was founded by Jean-Marc Vacheron in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1819, the association of Jacques Barthélemi, the founder’s grandson, with François Constantin during a trip to Italy, leads to what will become the company’s motto: “do better if possible and that is always possible.” At a very early stage, the Geneva-based manufacturer made a name for itself with its finesse for exceptional striking mechanism watches. The brand’s reputation grew and soon was known for its customized watches. The most famous collectors commissioned their own models – such as Sir Bhupindra Singh, the Maharajah of Patiala, who acquired a pocket chronograph clock watch with alarm, date and moon phases dated 1909; or the famous American automobile manufacturer James Ward Packard, who ordered in 1918 a quarter and half-quarter repeating pocket chronograph clock watch with Grande and Petite Sonnerie.

Even today Vacheron Constantin produces a small number of exceptional watches -13,500 per year- showing the clear preference for quality over volume with each timepiece expressing pure and exquisite beauty. Since 1901, Vacheron Constantin has been the most faithful representative of the Hallmark of Geneva, one of the oldest, most prestigious and demanding fine watchmaking certifications. This quest for excellence makes the Manufacture one of the best ambassadors of the great Geneva watchmaking traditions. Since then, the Manufacture has trained watchmakers to the crafts of fine watchmaking, based on the very strict criteria defining the Hallmark of Geneva. Timekeepers presenting refined aesthetics and a perfect technique have thus been created. Vacheron Constantin evokes an aspect of Fine Watchmaking that is as fascinating today as it has always been. Today, as in the past, the creations of Vacheron Constantin are the combined result of three qualities: technical expertise, design excellence and an elaborate finish.

Vacheron ConstantinMistal, the designer watch and jewellery boutique is part of the Ajit Khimji group. It showcases some of the most luxurious and iconic brands in the world. The Mistal boutique is more of an art gallery than a store. It is popular with the connoisseurs of the Sultanate for its rather unique shopping experience. Designed purely for the discerning few, it’s extremely plush interiors and distinctive display beckons the artist in you to indulge in every detail of the masterpiece on display. Their showroom at Darsait are a rather rare combination of opulence and elegance and have been carefully designed to give each brand its own space.

URWERK unveils UR-106 Lotus for women
Vacheron Constantin URWERK, the award-winning Geneva-based watch brand, has created a reputation for itself by creating some of the world’s most unique, complex and highly technical watches. The watchmakers have recently applied their exclusive style to the feminine universe by unveiling the UR-106 Lotus collection. The URWERK UR-106 Lotus is the first watch that the brand has created specially for women.
The new Lotus watch epitomizes the same creativity and complexity that URWERK has been known for since its founding in 1997 by Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei. Urwerk has released the new collection keeping in mind all the remarkable women behind their success.
The URWERK UR-106 Lotus was designed with the gorgeous lotus flower in mind, which not only represents the beauty of women but also the complexity of the brand. It will be available in two versions, dark and light, each of them produced in just 11 pieces. Thus, in darkness and light, the UR-106 “Lotus” is a double watch.
Embracing the URWERK aesthetics, the Lotus collection features a revised version of the brand's signature satellite hours, which are displayed in a unique way. The three satellite hours are constructed in the form of carrousels, spreading across the dial to create a lovely horological bloom. Each satellite is complete with four hour numerals that sweep along the minutes scale. Additionally, there is a moon-phase, made of lapis lazuli, which adds to the spectacular display of the watch. The UR-106 Lotus comes in two antithetical versions: one in titanium and steel with diamonds on the bezel, crown and buckle and the other in black PVC-coated titanium and steel set with black diamonds. The carrousel and the satellites have been meticulously satin-finished by hand and each of the hours and minutes markers are also hand-painted.
Speaking on the new UR-106 Lotus collection, Mr Dharmesh A. Khimji, the managing director of Mistal, said “We are very happy to present the new Urwerk collection to watch lovers in the Sultanate through Mistal. URWERK has always been a distinguished brand and well-known for its horological excellence. All their collections are exceptional as they feature an original way of displaying and appreciating time.”
“With glittering gemstones and soft curves, the new UR-106 Lotus collection for women is an incredible timepiece beyond stunning. The limited-edition watches of just 11 pieces come in two versions. Telling the Time with Two Hands and Eight Legs - Mistal Brings to Oman an Exquisite Designer Watch Arachnophobia
Vacheron Constantin Muscat: 04/02/2015: Engineered and crafted by L’Epée 1839, Switzerland's only specialized high-end clock manufacture and conceived and developed by MB&F, Arachnophobia makes its way as an extreme creation. Despite its intense appearance, this eye-catching three dimensional sculpture is an impeccably finished table and wall clock. MB&F founder, Maximilian Büsser’s drew his inspiration from the famous bronze, stainless steel and marble sculpture created by the artist Louise Bourgeois. Depicting a spider, the ‘Manam’ sculpture is among the worlds largest, measuring over 30 ft high and over 33 ft wide.
MB&F celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2015 with the motto - A creative adult is a child who survived. In its first decade, the Geneva-based creative lab has presented some very extreme machines. On the other hand, for over 175 years, L’Epée has been at the forefront of watch and clock making with a number of gold awards at International Exhibition. They were also the proud builders of the world’s biggest clock.
The body is outfitted with a black dome with white numerals depicting the hours and minutes. The self-sufficiency of this horological wonder is to be admired, for the finely-finished, highly visible movement boasts a power reserve of eight days. At either end of Arachnophobia’s time-displaying abdomen, important mechanical processes take place. The head houses the regulator with its oscillating balance wheel and a set of jaws, while the other end contains the mainspring barrel, which powers the movement. Attached to the abdomen are eight, visually enticing legs articulated where they join the body by ball-and-socket joints. The legs can be rotated so that Arachnophobia can stand tall on a desk or splayed flat for wall mounting. A third position provides an optical treat for fans of large arachnids; the front legs can be moved forward while the six others maintain the standing position, a rather interesting and alarming posture for Araneae fans. Arachnophobia is available in two colours - a realistic black or an 18K gold plated version.
Mistal – Ajit Khimji Group, lavishly showcases the finest collection of luxury watches and jewelry from the world over. Catering to the crème de la crème of the society, the showrooms radiate an aura of nobility and it’s tastefully decorated interiors speak of a distinct style of the elite. Each iconic work of art is given its own distinct niche to work its charm on connoisseurs of horology.
“It is with great honor that we can say that the Arachnophobia will be making its way to an exclusive display in our showroom,” said Mr. Dharmesh Ajith Khimji. “Conjured in the hands of true artistic and mechanical geniuses, this awe-inspiring timepiece is a rare visual in itself. The Arachnophobia is sure to stir a rush of adrenalin, desire and excitement in the heart of true clock aficionados.”

Telling the Time with Two Hands and Eight Legs - Mistal Brings to Oman an Exquisite Designer Watch Arachnophobia
Vacheron Constantin Oman–Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest Haute Horlogerie manufacture recently held an elite and exclusive Collector’s Dinner at the Chedi Hotel in Oman in collaboration with its retail partner Mistal in the country. This exceptional event heralded the unveiling of Vacheron Constantin’s New Harmony line and was graced by the brand’s CEO, Mr. Juan-Carlos Torres and Managing Director of Mistal Mr. Dharmesh Khimji. The event which hosted the very first reveal of the new collection in the region was attended by niche collectors and VIP guests from the country.
The Harmony Collection On the occasion of the 260th anniversary of its founding, the Manufacture Vacheron Constantin unveiled the first models of a new collection called Harmony. Issued in limited editions, these eminently contemporary timepieces feature a new cushion shape and a design inspired by one of the brand’s first wristwatch chronographs introduced in 1928. At the heart of these generous cases with their reinvented aesthetic beat new calibers – entirely designed, developed and produced in-house – focused on monopusher chronographs. Representing elegant horological complications that are some of the most highly sought after and most complex to produce, the monopusher chronograph models are complemented by a ladies’ double-pusher chronograph. A trio of dual-time watches housing a new in-house movement rounds off this unusual range of timepieces. Like the other most recent creations from the Manufacture, these special editions bear the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva.
Harmony features an entirely reinvented cushion shape and is an eminently contemporary interpretation of horological excellence that draws inspiration from the architectural lines and distinctive design of the first wrist chronographs made by the Manufacture in the late 1920s. Through its perfectly balanced three-dimensional “shape-in-shape” approach, Vacheron Constantin once again demonstrates its expertise as a watchmaking sculptor. This is achieved through a sophisticated case construction dedicated to precision, readability and comfort on the wrist, while pervaded by a disarming apparent simplicity. Moreover, this new generous and boldly distinctive silhouette complements the existing range of round or tonneau-shaped cases characterizing the classic collections by the Maison.
The timepieces exhibited at the event from the Harmony collection and other Vacheron Constantin collections included the following:

Gruebel Forsey launches ART PIECE 1 in Oman
Vacheron Constantin Greubel Forsey, the watchmaking company acclaimed for their innovative and stunning multi-tourbillon watches, is all set to impress watch fanatics all over the Sultanate of Oman with their new creation -- the Greubel Forsey Art Piece 1. The luxury watch makers recently showcased this stunning piece of art at Mistal boutique, their sole distributors in Oman.
Known for their rich history of crafting the finest timepieces in the world, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey teamed up with British artist Willard Wigan to create the entirely new co-creation –the Art Piece 1, the likes of which have never been seen before in the world of watchmaking.
The watch houses both Greubel Forsey's signature 30 degree double tourbillons and a microsculpture by Wigan, who is known for creating the world’s smallest sculptures. Nestling in the side of the white gold case of Art Piece 1 is an incredibly minute three-masted galleon called the Golden Sail. The microsculpture is hand-sculpted in gold and decked out in carbon fibre rigging that one can admire through a magnifier in a special crown.
The miniaturised optical system features 23x magnifying factor with adjustable focal length, along with systems to correct optical aberrations and optimise lighting. Thus the micro-sculpture, which would otherwise appear to the naked eye as just a fleck of gold, becomes visible in all its glorious detail without the need for artificial light.
The dial has a beautiful blue tone and the main plate is engraved with names of the three artists, watchmakers, and innovators involved: Stephen Forsey, Robert Greubel, and Willard Wigan. The case of the Double Tourbillon 30° houses a hand-wound movement with a 72-hour power reserve indicator. The hours and minutes display is visible only on request, ie by using a push-piece.
Dharmesh A. Khimji, the managing director of Mistal, said: “Greubel Forsey has always been at the forefront for producing a stunning range of luxury timepieces. The Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix honored De Bethune with the most coveted title, the ‘Aiguille d’Or’ or the ‘Golden Hand’ that has been sought after by esteemed watch manufacturers from the world over. Awarded for their exceptional brilliance in combining with supreme perfection the art and science of watch-making, De Bethune has produced timepieces that combine comfortable sturdiness along with the innovations that surround the sheer weightlessness, impeccable accuracy and distinct readability of each piece.
Vacheron ConstantinThe DB25 Zodiac and its elegantly open worked lugs frame a polished and blued titanium sky adorned with hand-engravings on solid gold representing the 12 zodiac signs. These symbols lend a sense of infinity to the depth of the De Bethune star-studded sky. The radiance instilled by the silver-toned guilloché decoration radiating from the dial centre contributes to the multiple shimmering light effects on the finely grained rings, and on the open-worked polished yellow gold hands.
Water resistant and shock proof, the DB28 fully complies with the strict rule of wearer comfort. It owes this exceptional comfort to a combination between the lightness of the titanium case, the softness of its hand-polished finish, the 12 o’clock crown position, and above all the presence of the patented floating lugs system that adapts to wrist size and movements. The watch also sports a natural rubber strap featuring a micro light motif that’s a first among the brand’s collections.
The construction and the aesthetic of the DB28 Maxichrono Titane proudly illustrates simplicity in a hand-polished titanium on the case and lugs with polished signature blue flamed steel work. The present time is read off by means of open-worked indicators in polished and blued steel featuring a contemporary design. Each hand points to blue numerals in a modern font, of which the distinctive character is accentuated by their volumes and colors. Meanwhile, elapsed time is measured in a more traditional manner by means of blued steel hands for the hours and seconds, and pink gold for the minutes. This masterpiece also marks a breakthrough in technology with three different types of clutch behind three semi-independent systems controlled by three column-wheels thus governing the different chronograph elapsed-time counters.
“At De Bethune we stand by the belief - ‘Not Doing More, but Instead Doing Better’. Each of our creations is timeless and bears no relation to the ephemeral trends and demands of the market. Our work is centered on innovation as we endeavor to create materials that are still being discovered in the watch industry. Te – Vision – , a Greubel Forsey timepiece, wins the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix award at the 2015 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
Greubel On Thursday 29 October 2015, the Jury of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awarded the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix to Greubel Forsey’s Vision timepiece. This is the second time that this prestigious prize has been awarded to a Greubel Forsey creation, following on from the Double Tourbillon 30° Édition Historique in 5N red gold in 2010.
Housed in a white gold case and driven by the Tourbillon 24 Secondes – the third ground-breaking invention conceived by the watchmakers in La Chaux-de-Fonds – the Vision model stands out for its sobriety and simplicity of appearance. It sufces to turn the timepiece over to realise just how origi- nal a creation it is. Focused on honing the proportions of the case, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey however refused to sacrifice the internal mechanism and the inclination of the tourbillon. On the display back, a dome carved out of sap- phire crystal forms a cupola that both houses the tourbillon and allows it be viewed – particularly its lower bridge, the form of which is comparable to that of a vaulted Roman arch. The fashioning of this piece, with its “barrel-polished” sur- face, requires such rare expertise that each bridge with this finish is discreetly signed by the craftsman-decorator who completed it.
Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey would like to express their warmest thanks to the members of the jury for once again distinguishing one of their creations. This award will only strengthen their desire to continue to take a highly per- sonal approach to contemporary fine watchmaking, to which their passionate enthusiasm and spirited inventiveness make them as strongly committed as ever.

Mistal Hosts a Grand Welcome to the Founder and President of Visconti
VIscontiFounder A name that revived the long lost concept of writing in Florentine and eventually turned the craftsmanship of the same place to an icon of its output accompanying its fundamental values of passion, art and technology, Visconti has been synonymous with writing instruments of unparalleled historical and technological sophistication since the past twenty-five years.
Mistal, a part of the Ajit Khimji group, are the sole authorized dealers to bring to Oman this much revered brand. Meeting the same class that Visconti upholds worldwide, each Visconti instrument is showcased in utmost excellence in the plush Mistal showrooms that caters to the crème de la crème of society.
Owing to the close associations that Mistal has maintained with Visconti, the Founder and President of Visconti, Mr. Dante Delvecchio himself, was welcomed to the country for the very first time to showcase some of the finest instruments from the exclusive Visconti collection .
Visconti’s extraordinarily elegant writing instruments - fountain pens, rollers and ball-pens - come from very intense historical and technological researches. Visconti offers a broad assortment of high quality items all showing strong characters and features. Traditionally an esteemed pen maker, on their twenty-fifth anniversary in 2013, Visconti took on board the human resources, the know-how and the traditional tools of Florentine watch-making to begin making its own luxury timepieces. Launching into a new adventure with exactly the same pioneering determination and enthusiasm as it did twenty-five years ago, it decided to bring watch-making back to Florence to stand proudly alongside the art of penmanship. By 2015, they brought in some marvelous creations featuring the same creative and innovative vein that customers look for in all of the company’s products. Visconti’s exclusive watches, just as their premium pen collection, are inspired by intellectual knowledge and the study of ancient and of modern techniques which results in the development of one exclusive timepiece after another.
Visconti followed its winning business model that it applied to writing, based on the rediscovery of skills and expertise and the organization of people by motivating them with long-term goals under the artistic and technical guidance of Dante Del Vecchio. “And it was his innovative idea, techniques and foresightedness that after establishing Visconti as a much sought after name producing the most aristocratic writing instruments, gave the brand a new definition and recognition as premium watchmakers,” said Dharmesh Ajit Khimji, “To have amongst us such a distinct individual is indeed a moment of great pride and honor for us.”
Visconti's mission is to envelop its clients in a 360 degree luxurious experience. Innovative design, precious materials and highly advanced engineering are the signature traits of Visconti’s prestigious workshops, where the artisans carve their dreams into precious works of art. Visconti’s designers and the peerless skill of its engineers have not only achieved the Basel 2014 target, they have also won the approval of such professional experts as the CNS and Italy’s National Diver Centre.

Mistal Celebrates Vacheron Constantin's New Patrimony Collection
Vacheron Constantin Muscat: A great watchmaking classic dedicated to collectors and crafted for eternity, Patrimony provides a pure and contemporary reinterpretation of a noble classic from the Vacheron Constantin heritage, stemming from the traditional watchmaking of the 1950s. The deliberately minimalistic impression belies a concern for detail aimed at achieving perfectly balanced lines. The dial, applied hour-markers and hands all follow the gentle curve of the case, complemented by a perfectly designed small second's subdial and a "pearl" minute track. This watch is to be worn like a second skin for a supreme touch of elegance.

Since 2006, through its Collection Excellence Platine concept, Vacheron Constantin has been offering collectors the ultimate expression of Fine Watchmaking: exceptional watches in 950 platinum issued in limited series and ranging from the simplest to the most complicated models. Above and beyond a platinum case, their common denominators are a platinum dial with a sand-blasted finish, a secret "Pt950" signature between 4 and 5 o'clock, 18K white gold hands, hour-markers and a "pearl" minute track, a dark blue alligator leather strap hand- stitched with silk tread and platinum thread, as well as a polished half Maltese cross-shape platinum buckle and a majestic embodiment of the Patrimony aesthetic.

Issued in a 150-piece limited and numbered series, the Patrimony Collection Excellence Platine watch asserts itself as a watchmaking dream. Its generous 42 mm-diameter case houses the Manufacture calibre 4400 AS, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback and adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif. Its dimensions are perfectly tailored to those of the case. A Hallmark of Geneva certified mechanism dedicated to the cause of exclusivity gives it the air of exceptional accomplishment.

Reaching to eternity and beyond, 950 platinum is an absolute luxury. Its depth and its highly distinctive grey colour create a fascinating light effect and will last an eternity. This noble and exclusive metal requires no varnish and will never become oxidised.

"The Patrimony is a true collector's pride, a collection that belongs to a league of its own. With a limited edition of 150 individually numbered pieces, this collection has raised brows of interest amongst the most elite watch aficionados." said Mr. Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director of Mistal. "As the local partners of this esteemed brand, we are delighted at the launch of this new collection."

Mistal Welcomes Co-Founder of Greubel Forsey - Stephen Forsey
Greubel Forsey Muscat: Bringing to Oman the finest of brands, Mistal, the luxury watch and jewelry boutique by Ajit Khimji Group, held an exclusive press conference to honor the visit of Mr. Stephen Forsey, co-founder of Greubel Forsey as 4 of the limited collection timepieces were showcased to a fascinated media on February 26, 2017 at Mistal Boutique, located in the magnificent IMC Building, adjacent to the popular Bareeq Al Shatti mall

The founders of Greubel Forsey, Robert and Stephen continue to build on their deep traditional knowledge gained with four decades of combined experience in high-end complicated timepieces, by inventing and developing technically valid horological complications to rigorous aesthetic principles. Of the 4 exclusive timepieces, the local media first witnessed the Tourbillon 24 seconds Historique Edition in Red Gold. Following on from the Double Tourbillon 30° in 2010, Greubel Forsey is now celebrating the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Asymétrique by releasing a specifically dedicated Edition Historique. This closes the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Asymétrique collection, whose models have been produced at an average rate of 18 pieces per year since 2007. There are three versions of the Tourbillon 24 Secondes to date: the Asymétrique, Contemporain and Vision models. Greubel Forsey has decided to pay homage to the first of these three versions, the "Tourbillon 24 Secondes Asymétrique", by creating a unique edition: the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Edition Historique. The timepiece exists in two versions: with a 5N red gold case or a platinum case. This timepiece will be available in two unique editions of 11 pieces. Signed by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey and realized in a limited edition of only a few pieces per year is the Art Piece 2 Edition 2 that was also showcased to a much excited media. The Art of Invention: this expression testifies to a forward-looking philosophy that has long been a driving force for Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, both in the field of scientific research as applied to fine watchmaking, and in that of aesthetic innovation. The Art Piece 2 – Edition 2 pushes back the boundaries of creativity even further. In this first Art Piece produced without an optical system (and therefore without a micro-sculpture or nano-engraving), the Double Tourbillion 30° appears to be a moving sculpture.

The next in line, the Grand Sonnerie speaks of the development of an acoustic resonance cage producing an extremely pure sound. These few elements alone give an idea of the magnitude of the almost gargantuan task of creating the first Greubel Forsey Grande Sonnerie. For every watchmaker even slightly fascinated by the history of watchmaking excellence, the Grande Sonnerie represents a culmination, a pinnacle that is often not reached in the space of a lifetime. Without a shadow of doubt, the Grande Sonnerie is one of the greatest of watchmaking complications.

Last but not least, Greubel Forsey also demonstrated the working of their Perpetual Calendar. These systems managed the information that determined certain key dates in the ecclesiastical calendar (such as Easter) in relation to astronomical data. This measures the difference throughout the year between solar time (also called sundial or true solar time) and mean time that is conventionally fixed at 24 hours per day, throughout the year. The length of a day in solar time varies according to the position of the earth on its elliptical orbit around the sun.

"As one of the prominent partners of Greubel Forsey, we were delighted to welcome the co-founder himself amidst us. The Oman market has shown a great deal of appreciation for the brand and it was indeed a matter of great honor to have Mr. Stephen Forsey showcase few of the most eminent pieces to the local audience," said Mr. Dharmesh A. Khimji, Managing Director of Mistal. "Stunning the most discerning horological aficionados with one innovative timepiece after another, each model of Greubel Forsey has a unique story to tell."

With artistically decorated interiors, separate VIP entrance and private room for the privileged few, the Mistal showroom is a pure reflection of elegance, class and nobility. It magnificently showcases each timepiece from the Greubel Forsey collection in all exuberance.
Mistal Celebrates the new RJ-Romain Jerome – Deep Blue Octopus
RJ Octopus Undeniably the most steampunk-like sea animal, RJ-Romain Jerome is dedicating its latest collection to the octopus, a fascinating marine creature from the collective imagination. Found in the depths of the ocean, the octopus is often portrayed as a sea monster whether in the Scandinavian mythology with the Kraken or in the 19th century literature with Jules Verne and Victor Hugo; the latter whom invented the word "pieuvre", French translation of octopus, in his 1866 novel "Les travailleurs de la mer" (Toilers of the Sea ). With this 25-piece limited edition, the Swiss watch making Maison introduces a truly marine and highly crafted timepiece, the Deep Blue Octopus, incorporating all characteristics and aesthetical features of the animal with a meticulous care devoted to each detail. Evolving in the bottom of the sea, the new Deep Blue Octopus sports an all-black stealth look to echo the darkness of the ocean. The 47mm case with all elements in black PVD-coated steel, reproduces the bilateral symmetry typical of the octopus, with the two crowns at 3 and 9 o'clock. The new model is equipped with an exclusive internal unidirectional rotating sapphire bezel featuring engraved five-minute graduation and a luminescent time indicator at 12h, which is activated by the 3 o'clock crown for the elapsed time controller while the 9 o'clock crown sets the time. Considering the Octopus as an emblem of the sea, the cephalopod is omnipresent and can be admired from all angles: sitting at the center of the dial, hiding on the case back or on the 3 o'clock crown. Hidden as well, the inside of the integrated black vulcanized rubber strap reveals suction cups as if the strap was one of the octopus' leg. The timepiece has also been built around the number eight to recall the 8 legs of the Octopus: there are 8 head screws on the case, 8 screws holding the case back as well as 8 rivets on each crown. And finally, the Deep Blue Octopus is water resistant down to 888 feet to explore the seabed. The dial, like the ocean floor, is textured thanks to the reproduction of a sea urchin skeleton. The plate has been machined-worked and rhodium-coated for more resistance and brilliance then covered with a transparent blue resin to mimic the blue color of the ocean. With his ability to hide at night, the octopus disappears to let the luminescence shine through the inserts in the sea urchin cavities which have been individually hand-filled. To finish off this Octopus infused timepiece, the bezel is a reminder that this collection rightly belongs to RJ's SEA universe. The black PVD-coated steel notched bezel contains oxidized and stabilized steel from the Titanic, another maritime giant.

RJ-Romain Jerome offers every man a chance to explore a dreamlike new dimension; they also embody the values of their time: a sense of distinctiveness, a need for speed, and a spectacular yet discreetly sophisticated aura of virility.
"RJ-Romain Jerome always has been a much revered name amongst true watch aficionados. Creating watches of the new horological era it produces one magnificent timepiece after another," said Mr. Dharmesh Ajit Khimji. "The Deep Blue Octopus is yet another work-of- art by RJ-Romain Jerome which has instantly stirred a lot of interest amongst enthusiasts of haute horology."

HUBLOT SHOWCASES BASELWORLD 2016 NOVELTIES IN OMAN Press and Hublotistas discover Hublot's latest watches.

May 22nd, 2016 (Oman) – Timelessness finds its ultimate meaning in a Hublot timepiece. Creating the finest watches and wall-clocks since 1980, Hublot defines the "Art of Fusion" philosophy in the luxury industry. Moving forward to create the future at breathtaking speed, the Swiss watchmaker partnered with Mistal to bring its memorable watches to Oman. In that context, Hublot and Mistal presented the brand's Baselworld 2016 novelties to the press in Muscat on May 8, at the Crowne Plaza, in the presence of Regional Director Hublot Middle East and Africa Marco Tedeschi, and Dharmesh Ajit Khimji, Managing Director - Mistal.

"It is a pleasure to be here as have always received a positive response from our customers in Oman; the country has a large number of watch enthusiasts who truly understand the concept of finesse," said Marco Tedeschi. "Our collaboration with Mistal has helped us associate our brand with leading events locally and maintain our connection with our clients."

The event in Muscat was the last stop of Hublot's road show in the region, and showcased eight of the new watches launched by Hublot at Baselworld this year. A watch brand that causes even the most discerning eyes to raise an appreciative brow, Hublot has received much admiration amongst women and men alike. In line with the celebration of 10 years of the All Black concept, the Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black was the star of the new collection, along with the Big Bang MECA-10 that boasts an innovative skeleton dial construction revealing the detailed mechanics of its new manufacture movement HUB1201. With all the plates, axles, wheels and gear synchronized in perfect harmony, this atypical design has a 10-day power reserve, further reinforcing the connection between man and machine.

The Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono UEFA EURO2016 builds football fans' anticipation for this summer's EURO Cup, while the Classic Fusion Berluti All Black and Scritto, highlighting the collaboration of Hublot and maker of prime leather Berluti, redefine style and distinction. The Classic Fusion Berluti straps were created through the same dedicated procedure used for Berluti shoes; from patterning, shaping, cutting and assembling the pieces of leather, to the mounting and lacquering of the straps. The Big Bang Unico Italia Independent Camo Blue, Green and Black are a definite attraction. Retaining the strength and lightness of carbon whilst offering the infinite spectrum of colors and eye-catching metallic effects of Texalium®, the unique collection is a result of the synergy between Hublot and Italia Independent, and rests on last year's successful partnership between the two brands.

For the ladies, the Big Bang Tutti Frutti Linen comes as a fresh, colorful collection, with light yet strong linen fabric on the straps and dials, representing an ethical and sustainable symbol of elegance. In addition to these, the Big Bang "One-Click" 39mm radiate through perfectly set diamond embellishments and a very practical strap changing system allowing ladies to adapt their watch to their fashion trend.

"Hublot has created its mark in history as a luxury watchmaker dictating its own theory of fusion. The watches' pure lines and careful selection of innovative materials complement its unique and different outlook of connecting the past to the future," said Dharmesh Ajit Khimji. "As Hublot's local partners, we are honored to have Marco Tedeschi with us today as we present a fine collection of Hublot novelties for the very first time in Oman."

The Mistal boutique, a part of the Ajit Khimji group, is a luxury watch and jewellery boutique that homes some of exclusive Hublot timepieces. The new showroom that was recently inaugurated is an epitome of timeless beauty and mirrors the same class, refinement and novelty as the brands it holds.
